Mac has expertise in a broad range of fields – from operations and technology consulting, to launching and advising start-up companies, to working at a seed-stage venture capital firm in New York City.
His industry experience covers a broad spectrum that includes software, biotechnology, online and offline retail, commercial services, and manufacturing. During the last seven years, Mac has developed business plans and financial models for more than 100 Venture Architects' clients and has advised several dozen others.
Prior to working with Venture Architects, Mac served as Chief Operating Officer of Carpet.com, helping raise its first round of venture capital financing and growing its sales to over $2 million in 18 months. Mac also worked on the development and portfolio management of Zephyr Management, LP, a seed-stage investment fund.
Mac spent the first five years of his career in operations analysis and technology development roles with Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting), Applied Materials, and A.T. Kearney.
Mac received his MBA from the University of Texas and holds a BSE in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Duke University.
